We are Oklahoma’s trusted tornado and storm shelter supplier since 1981. Finding the right storm shelter can be difficult, so we’ve created a guide to help you decide which size and model is right to protect your family. All Biggs Storm Shelters meet or exceed FEMA 320 and ICC-500 Standards. All concrete storm shelters are 6’2″ high inside. Installation is included in all pricing; dirt haul-off available for an additional fee. Slope Front models have 5 steps; Flat Top models have 7 steps. Safe rooms are shown at the bottom of the page. Today’s safe rooms are designed to withstand an F5 tornado.

Concrete Safe Room

Designed for outdoor installation, anchored on a level dirt pad and can be placed next to a sidewalk for easier wheelchair access. Each of our three safe room sizes features its own unique stamping pattern.

Steel Safe Room

Above Ground Shelters

Steel safe rooms are available in custom sizes, ranging from 4’x4’ to 8’x8’ to meet your needs. Our steel saferooms are designed to be installed in the garage after the house is built but we can design them for inside the house if we install the saferoom during construction before the framing starts.

Slope Front Shelter

Below Ground Shelters

Our slope front shelters are designed and constructed with your protection in mind. They are reinforced with fiber as well as steel rebar, and they are poured with a minimum of 6,000 psi concrete. At no extra charge, every storm shelter comes equipped with a double handrail on the ladder-like steps, a gas operated door closer, 8″ wind turbine for ventilation and a 6″ vent.

Slope Front models have 5 steps; Flat Top models have 7 steps.

Slope Front Shelter

The installation process takes around three hours and requires quite a bit of access. The crane truck that delivers the shelter and places it into the hole we dig and needs ten feet in width and thirteen feet in height of access all the way from the road to the spot you want the shelter installed.

We also have a 7’x9’ slope front which will hold sixteen people comfortably.

Flat Top Shelter

Below Ground Shelters

Flat Top Shelters are essentially the same as the slope front, but some people find them more attractive and less obtrusive since they don’t stick up as much after installation. Clearance needed by the trucks for these shelters is similar to the slope front unit.

Slope Front models have 5 steps; Flat Top models have 7 steps.
